The Royal Proclamation: Living in the Invisible Reality

Everything in the ministry of Jesus was built upon a single, foundational message. This message was not a mere suggestion or a philosophical idea; it was a royal proclamation. In the ancient world, when a king had a decree to share, he would send a royal messenger to different cities to announce exactly what the sovereign was saying. Jesus, having come from the Father, made such a proclamation: Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel”.

This proclamation declares that the time of waiting is over; “your time is now” because the time has been fulfilled. The Kingdom of God is not a distant reality that one only experiences after death; it is a present reality that is “at hand,” meaning it is within your reach right now. When Jesus rose from the grave, it marked the dawn of this new era. As Jesus stated in the Gospel of Luke, the kingdom of God is not here or there, the kingdom of God is within you or in the mid of you.

The Parallel Realities: Visible and Invisible

There are two realities running in parallel to one another. The first is the visible reality of the world, which is often broken and full of pain, suffering, sickness, and crisis. In this reality, people experience economic instability and personal trauma. However, layered over this broken physical world is the reality of God’s Kingdom a heavenly reality where there is no pain, no suffering, no sickness, and no lack. It is a realm defined solely by righteousness, peace, joy, and the fullness of God.

The reason many people miss this Kingdom is that it is invisible to the physical eye. Just as we use medical technologies like X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to see things inside the body that the physical eye cannot detect, God has provided a spiritual technology to see His invisible reality. That technology is the Word of God. When you “wear” the Word of God like a pair of specialized goggles, you can see God’s perfect reality even in the midst of a broken world.

Facts Versus Truth

Through the lens of the Word, your perspective on daily life changes. You may receive a medical report that contains negative news, or an email from a boss stating you have been laid off. In the world’s reality, these things are “facts”. However, a fact is not the ultimate Truth because a fact is subject to change. You may be sick today (a fact), but you can be healed tomorrow. You may be unemployed today, but that status can change.

Jesus is the only Truth that never changes. The Greek word for Truth, Alethia, literally means “Reality”. Therefore, whatever you accept as your Truth becomes your experienced reality. If you accept the finished work of Christ as your Truth, His reality becomes yours. This is the essence of the “Gospel,” which means “Good News”. If the message you are hearing does not bring you joy, happiness, or a sense of peace, you are likely not listening to the Good News of Jesus.

The Heart as a Garden of Seeds

The reality you live in is determined by the choices you make. God has provided both life and death, but He instructs His children to choose life. God is not the author of suffering or sickness, and He does not send these things to teach lessons; every good gift comes from Him. As it is written in the Book of Proverbs, Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor.

To experience this favor, you must treat your heart as a spiritual garden. Your heart is not a dumpster for the world’s bad news or other people’s negative reports. The Word of God is a “storehouse of seeds,” and you will reap exactly what you sow. If you want peace, you must find and plant a seed of peace; if you want promotion or prosperity, you must find the specific scriptures that address those needs. There are thousands of promises in the Word a seed for every possible need. You must take these seeds and plant them in your heart rather than just observing them or “worshipping” the book.

Step 1: The Discipline of Hearing

The first step in the cycle of faith is hearing. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. If you need healing, you must listen to the Word regarding healing until faith is established. This requires opening your mouth and reading the Word aloud so that your physical and inner ears can hear it.

Just as faith comes by hearing, fear also comes by hearing. Therefore, you must be intentional about what you allow into your “garden”. You may need to turn off the news, stop reading negative reports, or even distance yourself from friendships that only produce language of crisis and hopelessness. You must protect your heart, for as the scripture says, Guard your heart for it is the well spring of life. Always remember that God’s opinion of you is good, even if your own opinion or the world’s opinion is negative.

Step 2: The Power of Seeing

As you hear the Word, you will begin to see through it. This is not physical sight, but the engagement of your spiritual imagination. Consider the prophet Elisha, who was surrounded by an enemy army. His servant was terrified because he could only see the physical threat. Elisha prayed, Lord, please open his eyes that he may see. When the servant’s spiritual eyes were opened, he saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire protecting them.

In the same way, you are never alone; you have “Z-plus” security from heaven, with angels commanded to guard you in all your ways. God used this principle with Abraham by telling him to count the stars and the sand to help him visualize his descendants. He also trained Jeremiah by asking, Jeremiah, what do you see?. Your capacity to possess is determined by your capacity to see; as far as you can see, you can possess. The Word of God acts like a light on a foggy day, allowing you to see further so that you can “drive” faster toward your purpose.

Step 3: The Foundation of Believing

Hearing and seeing must lead to believing in the heart. True belief is more than just observing something on a screen; it is taking ownership of that Truth as your personal reality. The Apostle Paul wrote, If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. Jesus also emphasized the necessity of heart-belief without doubt: If you believe in your heart and do not doubt, you will have it. When you take possession of the Word in your heart, external reports like a negative medical finding lose their influence over your life.

Step 4: The Language of Speaking

The sign of a believer is their language. If you truly believe, you will speak. Scripture confirms this: we believe, so we spoke. When Abraham believed God’s promise, his language changed he and Sarah received new names that reflected their future as parents of many.

You must stop using the language of the world, such as saying things are “impossible,” “too expensive,” or “out of my league”. Such language reflects poverty in the heart, and as Jesus taught, For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. You cannot buy your way out of spiritual poverty; prosperity comes from changing your heart and your language to align with the Gospel. If you continue to speak negative things, you will eat the fruit of those words. Your speech is corrected only when your heart is filled with the right Word.

Step 5: The Necessity of Acting

The final and most critical step is acting on the Word. Many believers are experts at hearing, seeing, believing, and speaking, but they fail to take action. However, Faith by itself is dead if it does not have works. God does not ask you to do the impossible; He asks you to do what is possible for you so that He can manifest the impossible.

When Peter was told by Jesus to cast his net on the right side of the boat, there were no fish in the lake at that time. Yet, Peter acted on the Word, saying, “at your word I will do”. The action of casting the net allowed the fish to move from the invisible reality into the visible one. Similarly, when Jesus fed the 5,000, the multiplication of the five loaves and two fish did not happen while they were in His hands; it happened as the disciples acted to distribute them.

If you are waiting for provision before you start your business or ministry, you may never see it; the provision is often revealed only after you act. Do not be a “revelation-only” believer who hears much but does nothing. As the Apostle Paul told Timothy, This charge I entrust you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare. Prophetic words do not work automatically; you must “make them work” by being a doer of the Word.

If you feel God is silent or your progress is delayed, check if you have completed the last thing He told you to do. You cannot move to the “Kindergarten” syllabus if you have not finished the “Nursery” assignment. Whether it is walking in righteousness, dealing generously with others, or taking a practical step toward a dream, you must execute the revelation you have received. Stir yourself up in the Word hear, see, believe, and speak until you have the faith to act, for the moment you act, the Word will work for you.
