Predestined for Greatness

The Kingdom Business

If you read 1 Corinthians 15:58, it says:

1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord, your labor is not in vain.”

The primary action in these words is the work of the Lord—the labor we do for Him.

The True Business of a Believer

Let me ask you something: How many of you have a side business? The first business every child of God has is the kingdom. The other things you do are side businesses. Your primary purpose in this world as a child of God is to fulfill His purpose and seek His kingdom.

The problem arises when the side business becomes the main business. Think about it: What company do you work for? WatchGuard? Accenture? Salesforce? The labor you do there is in vain because it is temporary. The only thing that remains eternal is the work you do for the kingdom. No matter how much money you make or save, you cannot take it to heaven.

The Direction of God’s Blessings

The Bible talks about blessings, yet many people do not see them. Why? Because the blessings of the Lord move in the direction of His purpose.

The Bible is a book of blessing, but that blessing is only released for things aligned with God’s purpose.

For example, if you apply for a business loan, the bank will first review your proposal. They need to see if your business is legitimate before granting the loan. Similarly, you cannot live in sin and expect God’s blessing. You cannot be a thief and ask the Lord to prosper your business of stealing cars. It doesn’t work like that!

Full-Time Kingdom Work

The verse in 1 Corinthians 15:58 is not just for full-time pastors. The concept of full-time, half-time, or quarter-time ministry is man-made. If you have believed in the gospel, you are a full-time minister of God. Your main business is the business of the Father. Jesus Himself said, “I have come to fulfill the business of the Father.”

Aligning Finances with the Kingdom

When we focus on the kingdom, we will see the resources of the kingdom backing us up. I remember investing in certain companies that brought great returns. However, when it was time for a mission trip, I told my friend, “Take out all the money.” He hesitated, thinking we should wait for higher returns. But I reminded him that our investments were not about making money but about funding the kingdom.

Those who work at any company should see their salaries as a means to partner with the kingdom. The moment we lose this perspective, our lives become imbalanced.

The Blessing of Faithfulness

The principles of the kingdom work for everyone. When I was working in the corporate world, I ensured my evenings and weekends were dedicated to serving God. I wasn’t doing it with the expectation of leading a large church someday—I was simply being faithful in the little things.

Even the smallest acts of service carry an anointing. Whether setting up chairs or cleaning the hall, if you serve as if you are serving Jesus, you will experience the blessings of God.

Jesus’ Ministry and Humility

Jesus started His ministry at 30, but in just three and a half years, He changed the world. Before beginning His ministry, He was baptized by John the Baptist. Even though Jesus was the Son of God, He humbled Himself to recognize the authority of John.

The anointing always flows from the greater to the lesser. If you want to be blessed, you must be humble enough to receive from those God places over you. The Bible says in Hebrews 7:7:

Hebrews 7:7 – “Without any dispute, the inferior is blessed by the greater.”

God blesses people through people. If you fail to receive from others, you block the very channel through which God wants to bless you.

The Revelation of the Son of God

When Jesus was baptized, heaven opened, and a voice declared:

Matthew 3:17 – “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

At that moment, Jesus was presented to creation. Before this, creation did not recognize Him. But after this, He could command the storm, and it obeyed Him.

The Bible says in Romans 8:19:

Romans 8:19 – “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.”

Since the fall, creation has been waiting for the Son of God to restore it. When heaven declared Jesus as the Son of God, creation acknowledged Him. Likewise, when we align ourselves with the kingdom, we walk in that same authority.

The Temptation of Jesus

As soon as Jesus was baptized, He heard the voice of the Father affirming Him. Then, He was led into the wilderness by the Spirit.

Luke 4:1 – “And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness.”

For forty days, He was tempted by the devil. Then, the enemy approached Him directly:

Luke 4:3 – “The devil said to Him, ‘If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.’’

Is making bread from stone a sin? How is that a temptation then? We often assume that the devil tempts us into sinning. However, sin is the fruit, not the root. The root issue is what the devil attacks first. The real temptation here was not about converting stone into bread; it was an attack on Jesus’ identity. The enemy was sowing doubt: Are you really the Son of God? Where had Jesus been for the last thirty years? He was a carpenter, not a scholar or a rabbi. The devil tried to make Jesus question His identity.

The Importance of Identity

When a person’s identity is lost, they lose their purpose. If your identity is attacked, your purpose is compromised.

Let’s look at an example:

John 13:3-4 – “Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going back to God, rose from supper. He laid aside His outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around His waist.”

In John 13, Jesus washed His disciples’ feet—an act of profound humility. He even washed the feet of Judas, who would betray Him. How was Jesus able to serve so selflessly? Because He knew His identity.

The success of Jesus’ ministry was rooted in His personal relationship with the Father. His ministry was an overflow of that relationship.

Likewise, if we want to work for the Lord, our service must come from an overflow of our relationship with Him.

Sons, Not Servants

God is not calling for mere servants; He is calling for sons who will serve Him. Servants need instructions, but sons follow vision. Servants seek guidelines, but sons seek understanding. Before you serve God, you must recognize your identity as His beloved child.

When I say son, it is gender-neutral, just as bride is gender-neutral in the kingdom. We, as the body of Christ, are the Bride of Christ. Likewise, men and women alike are called sons of God.

Far too often, our identity is tied to what we do: I am a doctor, an engineer, a technician. But in the kingdom, it is reversed—our identity defines our work.

Romans 8:14-15 – “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!.”

The Holy Spirit does not constantly remind you of your sins; rather, He continuously affirms that you are God’s beloved child.

Overcoming Through Identity

The success of Jesus’ ministry came from His focus—not on what He could do, but on who had called Him. The same is true for us. When faced with challenges, we must stand firm in our identity as God’s children.

1 John 5:4 – “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.”

Because we are born of God, we are overcomers. Giants may rise against us, but we will not be defeated.

The Bible: A Relationship, Not a Rulebook

Do not read the Bible as a book of instructions. Read it to deepen your relationship with the Father. The Old Testament was built on laws because people were servants of God. In the New Testament, we live under grace because we are sons of God. Everything we do flows from a relationship, not a set of rules.

Ephesians 1:5 – “He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.”

You are not an accident. You were predestined, chosen, and handpicked by God. The first thing you must understand is that you are called by Him—not as a servant, but as His beloved child.

Standing Firm Against the Enemy’s Lies

The devil repeatedly tempted Jesus by questioning His identity: If you are the Son of God, do this. But Jesus responded:

Matthew 4:4 – “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

When the devil tries to make you doubt who you are, stand firm on God’s Word. If a lion loses its identity, it will behave like a dog.

If you take a pig and clean it, it will still return to the mud because that is its nature. Likewise, when you accept Jesus, you are recreated in His image. Your nature is righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 – “For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God .”

You do not earn righteousness; you receive it by faith. Believe what God says about you.

You Are Who God Says You Are

Declare this:

I am what the Bible says I am.
I have what the Bible says I have.
I can do what the Bible says I can do.

There’s a story about an eaglet that was raised among chickens. It learned to peck the ground, thinking it was a hen. One day, an eagle flew overhead and told it, You are not a hen; you are an eagle! You were made for the skies! But because the eaglet had lived among chickens for so long, it struggled to believe its true identity.

Many of us are like that eaglet. We have been told lies about who we are, but God says: You are My child. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are born to soar.

Ephesians 1:5 – “In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.”

The Father’s Love is Our Foundation

What do you do when faced with sickness, financial troubles, or mental struggles? Go back to the basics of the Gospel: You are loved by the Father.

Most of us know this truth in our minds, but we must believe it in our hearts. When it moves from head knowledge to heart revelation, everything changes.

Romans 8:39 – “Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Let this be your foundation. You are loved. You are chosen. You are a son of God. Walk in that identity.
