You know, I was wondering something. When church is happening, and somebody just enters the room and they see people crying and worshiping the Lord, everybody thinks it’s normal, right? You step into a church and you see people crying, people with tears and sobbing. Everybody thinks it’s normal. But just imagine you stepped into a place, into a church, and people are just laughing without any reason—you think these people are loose.
But the Bible says in,
Psalm 16:11: “In your presence, there’s fullness of joy.”
Say with me, full of joy.
Do you know something? You don’t need a reason to be joyful. You just need Jesus. You just need the presence of Jesus to be joyful. Jesus has become the reason for your joy.
Oh, I know there are a lot of prayer requests that you’re praying for, believing for, and they haven’t happened yet, and you know a lot of things. But I’m telling you, just because you know Jesus is a good enough reason for you to smile, for you to laugh, for you to be joyful.
You have entered into the house of joy. You have entered into the season of joy and celebration. I declare jubilee over your life that from now henceforth, you will not move into any other season other than the season of joy and celebration. Come on, receive it. Receive it. Joy is your portion. Joy is your portion.
Okay, let’s quickly turn to Matthew
Matthew 16:13 – 16 – “Now, when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'”
So Jesus is asking his disciples, what do people think of me? What are they talking about me? Who do they say that I am? And they give him different responses. Some say, you’re John the Baptist, some say you’re Elijah, some say you’re Jeremiah. But Jesus doesn’t care about what they say. He’s asking this question because he wants to know, what do you think I am? What do you say who I am? Yeah, what do you say who I am?
Now Peter says, you know, Peter says, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus is the Christ.
The meaning of Christ is the Anointed One. Jesus is the Anointed One, the living Son of God. You know, I used to think Christ was a surname for Jesus, like how we have “Samuel Thomas,” and Thomas is the surname. I thought Jesus Christ meant “Christ” was the surname. But Christ means the Anointed One, and Christ is not a surname. Christ is the title given to Jesus, just like how we call someone a doctor because they function as a doctor in a hospital. Christ is the title given to Jesus to identify him as the Anointed One. Are you with me so far?
Okay, now see the response of Jesus in,
Matthew 16:17 – “And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.‘”
So Peter said, “Jesus, you are not Elijah, you’re not Jeremiah, you’re not John the Baptist. You are the Son of the living God.” And Jesus responds, “Blessed are you.” How many of you know that Jesus is the Son of the living God? Just by knowing this, you are blessed. Just by having this revelation, you have been separated from the crowd. You are blessed. You are favored. Hallelujah. Amen.
And then Jesus says, “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you.” (Matthew 16:17) How many of you know that Jesus is the Son of God? You did not come to this conclusion by yourself. Let me say this slowly: If you know that Jesus is the Son of God, you did not come to this conclusion by your intellect. The Father in heaven has given you this revelation. For those of you who doubt if the Father ever talks to you, for those of you who doubt if the Holy Spirit ever speaks to you, I’m telling you this is evidence. If you know that Jesus is the Son of the living God, it’s proof that the Father has communicated this to you. Oh man, nobody else told you. The Father has taught you. Nobody else could have brought you to this revelation other than the Father.
Do you know the Father is working so hard behind the scenes, even when you’re not aware? He’s speaking into your life again and again.
Okay, let’s read ahead, verse 18:
Matthew 16:18 – “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Jesus is telling Peter that on this revelation—this revelation that you have, that Jesus is the Son of the living God—on this revelation, I will build my church. Every church is built on the revelation that Jesus is the Son of the living God. Every church is built by Jesus—your church, every church. They can have different shapes, different sizes, different colors; it doesn’t matter. But every church is built by Jesus. That’s why you should never criticize any church, because a church is built by Jesus. Church is built by Jesus.
The word “church” comes from the Greek term Ecclesia, which means a legislative assembly, not merely a religious gathering. When we think of the church, it’s crucial to understand that Ecclesia signifies a purpose much deeper than just meeting for worship.
A legislative assembly is where decisions impacting a nation are made; any new law must be passed through this body. Similarly, the church is not just a gathering of believers; it has a significant purpose in God’s plan.
While we often associate the church with fellowship—coming together to worship and connect—we must also recognize that Ecclesia refers to the legislative assembly of God. As such, you are a part of the legislative assembly of heaven.
Do you know that’s why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:20 that you are an ambassador of heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:20 – Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Hallelujah! If I had known this sooner, I’d have been jumping in my chair!
Consider this: an American ambassador in India represents the United States, embodying its reality even while living abroad. The moment you step into the American embassy in India, it feels like you’ve entered the soil of America, despite being physically in India. You’ve crossed borders, jurisdictions, and stepped into a different reality.
You are an ambassador of heaven. You are the legislative assembly of heaven. So, even though geographically you’re here on Earth, you carry a different jurisdiction. Hallelujah! You carry a different reality altogether. You are in the world, but not of the world. You’re on Earth but representing heaven, with the power and backing of heaven.
The church is not just a gathering for fellowship; yes, that is part of it, but the assignment of the church is to become the legislative assembly of heaven.
Read the next verse:
Matthew 16:19 – “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
In simple words, Jesus is saying that as the legislative assembly of heaven, whatever you decree on Earth will be established in heaven.
In India, when the legislative assembly reaches a consensus on a law, they pass it by striking the table, and that law becomes applicable to the entire nation immediately. Do you understand that? As the legislative assembly of heaven, when you declare God’s word in agreement, you are bringing a reality from heaven into Earth. Jesus is saying that whatever you bind on Earth has already been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on Earth has already been released from heaven.
You are not just on Earth to somehow live a life, make a living, and then, when you die, go to heaven. You are here with the assignment to bring heaven down. That’s why Jesus had only one message: His kingdom is at hand. Hallelujah! We have an assignment in our lives. We are ambassadors of heaven.
Yes, you are living on Earth. Yes, you are surrounded by chaos, problems, sickness, and issues. But that does not define your life, because the truth over your life is that you are an ambassador of heaven. Amen. An ambassador carries a piece of the country he represents. You carry heaven inside of you.
Are we waiting to reach that geographical heaven? Absolutely! But you don’t have to wait. You carry heaven inside of you. In the circumstances you are facing today, you can release heaven’s reality into your life through your actions and words. You are the medium through which heaven enters Earth.
Remember, as part of the legislative assembly, it’s essential to eliminate a victim mindset from your thinking. You know, a victim mindset can sound like this: “The city I live in is so poor. My background is so poor. My parents didn’t do enough. I didn’t get a good education. I don’t have enough money.” But I’m telling you, if you are a child of God, there is no situation that justifies a victim mindset. You are heaven’s ambassador! There’s an assignment over your life to release heaven’s reality wherever you are. Amen! Hallelujah!
Jesus said, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom.” What do keys do? They either lock or unlock. Jesus did not say, “I’ll give you a key”; He said, “I will give you the keys.” This indicates a collection of keys that can lock and unlock various realities. Last week, I shared the key of thanksgiving, and today, I want to give you another powerful key that can unlock heaven’s reality for you.
How many of you have been praying for something for a long time and haven’t seen it come to pass? The key to amplifying the effect of your prayer is this: just like an amplifier can boost sound. If I don’t use my mic, I have to strain my voice. But when I use the mic, it amplifies my voice. I’m going to give you a key that will amplify the power of your prayer.
Matthew 18:19-20 – “Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on Earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Some years ago, while leading worship, I released this word: “Where two or three are gathered, Jesus is here.” The Holy Spirit challenged me: Do you truly believe that when two or three gather in Jesus’ name, His presence is here right now? One of the secrets to amplifying your prayer is through the prayer of agreement. When you pray in agreement with others, you will see the amplification of your prayer.
The prayer of agreement requires that both people agree. The Bible says that whatever you agree on together, it will be done for you. Deuteronomy 32 tells us
Deuteronomy 32 : 30 – How could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had given them up?
One can chase a thousand, but when two come together, they can chase ten thousand. When we come into relational unity, our strength multiplies dramatically. There is power when people unite in relational harmony and agreement.
If one can chase a thousand, two can chase ten thousand, three can chase a hundred thousand, four can chase a million, and five can chase ten million! Are you hearing what I’m saying? The key to this is that you need to be in agreement. It’s vital for this prayer to have relational unity among each other.
When they were building the Tower of Babel, we see in
Genesis 11:5-6: “And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the children of man had built. And the Lord said, ‘Behold, they are one people and they have all one language. And this is only the beginning of what they will do, and nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.’”
Nothing will be impossible when you come together in unity. When you come together as the legislative assembly of God, nothing is impossible for you. If you are praying for something and haven’t seen the answer, find someone who will agree with you. Agreement brings acceleration and amplification.
What you could not accomplish alone, sitting and praying in agreement will get done quickly and efficiently. Amen!
Throughout the Scriptures, we see that when the saints came together in unity, they witnessed the impossible becoming possible. In the time of Esther, the king had decreed that the Jews would be killed. But Esther said, “Before I go to the king, I want all our brothers and sisters to come together and pray in unity and agreement.” God worked the impossible in their favor.
Are you hearing me, church? For this key to work, all it requires is for you to be humble enough to ask someone, “Will you agree with me?” Pride has isolated us in our prayer rooms because we hesitate to open ourselves to others and the people of God. But I want to challenge you today: if you become humble and ask someone to agree with you, your prayer will be answered.
The king had kept Peter in prison, and he was about to be executed. But the church came together. Are you hearing this? The church didn’t just pray for an hour and go home. They didn’t say, “Let’s meet on Zoom from nine to ten for one hour of prayer.” No, they came together in agreement. They used the key of the prayer of agreement, believing and standing in unity until they saw the answer.
That’s the key! When we pray in agreement, we must keep praying until we see the answer. Prayer in unity begins with humility, but it is sustained by perseverance. Amen!
This is why the church needs to be big. Every church can start small, but the Bible says, “Though your beginning is small, your later end will be glorious.” Every church needs to grow. I’m not just talking about a specific size, but any church that starts small should always be striving for growth.
Every family needs to grow. Are you hearing this? The church is a family of families that needs to grow. When families come together in agreement, nothing will be impossible for them. God can overturn the laws of the nation. We are standing at such a pivotal time—such a glorious time for the Church in India!
Yes! All that our forefathers sacrificed will bear fruit in our generation, but it requires us to be united in agreement. As long as we remain divided, the devil will come and snatch away our destiny. Amen!
There is a church in the Bible called the Church of Philadelphia. The end-time revival will come from the Church of Philadelphia because the meaning of “Philadelphia” is brotherly love and unity. When we come together in agreement, we are embodying the spirit of the Church of Philadelphia.
It’s important to understand that it is not the Holy Spirit who divides churches; He is not known as the spirit of division. The spirit of division is not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit desires unity and agreement in believing God’s will for this nation. That’s why it is vital for us to come together in one accord, in unity.
Let me show you
Psalm 133: “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.”
Let’s replace “brothers” with “brothers and sisters”: “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters dwell together in unity.”
Next,
Psalm 133 -2: “It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes.”
Oil is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. When we come together in unity, the same power and anointing that is in the head will flow into every part of the body. It doesn’t matter what part of the body you are; as long as you are connected, you will experience the same power and anointing. Are you listening to this?
You must become part of the body. For example, I wear this watch when I go out, but when I go to sleep, I take it off and place it on the lampstand. Why? Because this watch is not part of me. Are you listening? It’s connected to me, but it’s not part of me. Don’t just be connected to the church; become part of the church. It is crucial for you to be part of the church, not just connected.
When I eat, all the nutrients from the food flow into every part of my body, nurturing and sustaining it. But this watch does not receive any nutrients. When you are part of the church, you must truly be part of it. It’s not enough to just stay connected. You have to engage and become a member of the church.
How do you know that you’re part of the church? Think about it: when you’re walking down the road and you stub your toe on a stone, your entire body feels the pain. One member’s pain affects the whole body. Similarly, one member’s blessing is a blessing for the entire body.
Some of us are fooling ourselves, thinking we’re connected to the church just by attending on Sundays. Become part of the church—truly a member of that community. The heartbeat of that church should resonate in your life. The vision of that church must become your vision. The purpose of the church should become your purpose.
When we come together in unity as a body, nothing will be impossible for us. The problem is that in the kingdom, there are too many lone wolves.
But do you know there is power when people come together in unity? Strategic partnerships are formed so that what one person cannot accomplish, God can achieve through unity. Even when God created the cosmos, it was not one part of the Trinity operating alone. Whenever God does something, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit come together in unity and agreement. They never act alone. When God was creating the cosmos, everyone was involved—the Spirit, the Word, and the Father. What you can do alone, you can accomplish much more effortlessly in strategic partnership.
One reason the church is struggling in India is that it often fights against itself and remains divided. Instead of joining hands to support one another and carry each other’s burdens, we sometimes compete with each other. Today, make a commitment to never partake in division. God’s heart is for unity, so always stand for unity.
You cannot expect your prayers to be answered while making plans to split a church. It doesn’t work that way. I know none of you do that, but you understand my heart—our hearts must be for unity and partnership.
Consider Ruth: she had the option to return to her hometown and restart her life after her husband died. Instead, she told Naomi, “Your God will be my God, your people my people. Where you go, I will go; I will not leave you.” Why? Because the associations in your life can either add to you or subtract from you. For Ruth, Naomi was a blessing.
We often expect miracles from God, but rarely does He send a miracle directly. In most cases, God sends miracles through people. If you don’t have a heart to unite with others, to partner with them, you are cutting off the blessings that God has for you.
As long as King Saul was associated with the prophet Samuel, he ruled with power and God’s backing. But the day he got disconnected from Samuel, the anointing shifted to David. God wants to bless you and answer your prayers, and often He does this through people.
God blesses us through people. So if you disconnect from people, how can God bless you? In the generation we live in, where many adopt the “me and Jesus” theology, I’m telling you, this mindset comes from the pit of hell to isolate you and ultimately destroy your life. Even Jesus didn’t minister alone in the Himalayas; He worked among and with people.
Unless you learn how to work with imperfect people, you are not truly worshiping God. It’s easy to say, “God, I honor You,” but do you prove it by honoring those imperfect people He has placed in your life? It’s simple to proclaim, “Lord, I worship You,” because God doesn’t come and challenge you directly. But can you worship God when the people He has placed over you challenge you?
King Solomon was the wisest king, yet he surrounded himself with counselors. Why did a wise king need counselors? Because true wisdom comes from humility, and humble people surround themselves with wise counsel. Only a fool believes he can do it all by himself.
Here’s a question for you: In your social circle, if you are the smartest person, that means you’re a fool in that circle. If everyone comes to you for advice, you might be the smartest, but that’s not a good place to be. To grow, you should run with people who challenge you to run faster. If you only surround yourself with those who agree with you, you will stagnate.
If your friends always agree with you, consider changing your circle. They may be leading you down the wrong path. You need friends who will challenge you and fathers and mothers who will hold you accountable in the Lord.
We are living in a generation that craves affirmation, affirmation, affirmation. But just seeking affirmation won’t do you any good. This desire for affirmation often stems from psychology, not the Word of God. The Bible says, “Do not spare the rod if you don’t want to destroy a child’s destiny.”
These ideas about constant affirmation may sound wise and loving, but they often lack empirical evidence to support their effectiveness. Instead, follow God’s Word. It has centuries of empirical and statistical evidence proving that it works. When you align with God’s principles, you will lead a healthy life, build a strong family, and experience prosperity. Don’t be swayed by every new idea that comes on TV.
The devil isn’t coming up with new ideas; he’s just repackaging the same old deceptions from a thousand years ago. We think it’s new because we’re seeing it for the first time, but it’s just an old tactic dressed in a new disguise.
Can I share my heart with you? We all have weaknesses and strengths. We all face issues that God needs to address—none of us are perfect. But God has designed the church as a platform for growth. If you simply keep showing up every Sunday, even if you struggle with pride, you will become humble just by being in the presence of God and His people.
Isolation will not lead to any good. No valid reason you have for distancing yourself from the church is strong enough to justify it. Stay connected and keep showing up; that’s where your blessing and growth will happen.
If you’re coming to church for selfish reasons, that’s still better than the selfless excuses that keep you away. Yes, come to church because you want to be blessed, or because you want to find a spouse—whatever your reason. Just come! God will sort things out in His time. But any selfless reason you have for avoiding church will only lead to destruction.
We need to come together in unity; it’s the Father’s cry for us to work through our issues together. Escapism and isolation are easy, but what’s difficult is showing up consistently and facing challenges, because every challenge is God’s way of promoting us.
Your faith cannot be built unless it’s challenged. When we’re around imperfect people, our faith in God will be tested by how we love those who are not perfect. Seek out imperfect people—everyone is imperfect! If you find a perfect church, don’t go; the moment you step in, it will no longer be perfect.
But if you’re in an imperfect church, you’re in the right place because you, too, are imperfect. Here, you can work things out and worship a perfect God. It’s not about achieving perfection; it’s about encountering the Perfect One.
By simply showing up to church every Sunday and exposing yourself to the power of fellowship, you embrace humility. It takes utter humility, especially when you start forming close friendships within the church. Initially, everything seems good, but as you grow closer, you discover each other’s secrets, personality traits, and flaws. You might think, “Why is the pastor calling that person to pray again and again? Does he even know?”
That’s where our faith is truly tested. Can we still come together in agreement and unity, looking beyond earthly flaws to see the Spirit of God at work in each of us? Can we recognize the calling of God on one another, acknowledging that while we are imperfect in the natural, we are made complete in Him? Everyone preaching from the pulpit does so by grace; none of us is perfect.
Do you see the need to be humble and open yourself to godly relationships? When the going gets tough, don’t isolate yourself—keep working it out. Relationships can be challenging, but God’s blessing is found in godly relationships. This isn’t just true for husband and wife; there’s power in unity among all believers. We must come together as a family of families, agreeing in unity, saying, “Let Your will be done.”
When you come together in agreement, you know you’re imperfect, and so is the other person—who cares? Agree together for God’s will to be done. Isolation comes from the devil. There is never a valid reason to be isolated. Every child of God should be a member of a church, because that’s God’s design for you and me. You cannot say, “I love Jesus, but I hate the church,” because the church is the bride of Jesus. You dare tell me that you love me but hate my wife? I will never come to your house. We are one. So when you love me, you love my wife. When you love Jesus, you love his bride. “When I love Jesus, I love his bride.”
When we come together in unity, anything that we pray for, heaven releases it. So, never entertain the division of the devil within the church, within your families, or in your areas of influence where you are working. Never entertain division. Always pray for the unity of families. Because there’s power in agreement and unity.
