I received a word during worship today, and I want to share it with you before we move into teaching. Has anyone received bad news this week? Maybe a difficult medical report, something troubling at work, or challenging news in your family? If so, let me tell you this: any bad news you’ve received cannot outshine the good news of Jesus. The gospel is good news, and it’s more than just satisfactory news—it’s too good to be true. It’s so good, it can be hard to believe. It’s like winning a hundred-million-dollar lottery; it’s that good. That’s the gospel of Jesus! Any bad news pales in comparison to the good news of Jesus. So receive the good news, which is the power of God for salvation.
The gospel isn’t just about going to heaven one day. If it were only about reaching heaven, we’d be praying to die as soon as possible! Jesus didn’t just die to get us to heaven one day; He died so that heaven could come into us. When the King of Heaven enters your life, He brings the fullness of His kingdom with Him.
Romans 8:32 – “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”
You already have everything in Jesus. You don’t need to die to get to heaven; Jesus died so that you could have heaven in you now.
Do you realize that Jesus didn’t only die for you, He died as you? When He hung on the cross, He carried each one of us—our names, our identities, our sins. It’s funny how easily we accept that we’re sinners because of Adam’s sin, yet we struggle to believe we’re righteous in Christ. We weren’t made sinners by our actions; we were born into Adam’s sin. But just as we were in Adam when he sinned, we are now in Christ through His righteousness.
Life is often unfair; that’s why we have the favor of God. We don’t need to chase fairness when we already have His favor, which is greater! When Adam sinned, we were all in him, inheriting his brokenness. But now, if you’re born again, you’re no longer in Adam but in Christ. Just as an apple tree bears apples and a mango tree bears mangoes, the word of God produces life, righteousness, and all that is good in us.
1 Peter 1:23 – “You have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.”
Every limitation that Adam’s sin brought was dealt with on the cross when Jesus died as us. This physical world is governed by laws and principles—gravity, time, and matter. But when Adam fell, he fell from his divine position and began living as a slave to earthly laws, no longer operating in his high spiritual authority. Before the fall, he had dominion and could command animals—they recognized his authority and obeyed. But after the fall, he lost that position.
Do you know you’re not simply made from dust? Genesis 2 tells us that Adam’s body was formed from dust, but it was the breath of God that gave him life. You’re a spiritual being—a spirit from God that resides in a body to operate in this physical world. That’s why, to dwell on Earth, even God had to take on flesh. You are not just your body; you are a spiritual being with the divine breath of life inside you.
This body is like a cloak you wear over your spiritual being. You are a spirit, and your body allows you to interact in the physical world. The bridge that connects your spirit to your body is called the soul—your mind, emotions, and imagination. Yes, it’s very simple. You are not the body; you are a spiritual being. Amen. When God created Adam, He created Adam within Himself, because any word that God releases needs an atmosphere for it to grow. For example, when God commanded trees to grow, the earth was the environment that supported the seed of His word, and trees sprang forth. When He created birds, He spoke into the air; His word became a seed, and the air provided the atmosphere for birds to come forth. God’s word, like a seed, requires an environment and atmosphere to take root and grow.
Now, when God spoke you into existence, He also spoke everything else into existence.
Genesis 1:26 – Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
This means you were created in the image of God, within His own being. You may have been born on Earth in the past 20 or 30 years, but you existed in God’s heart before the foundation of the world.
Ephesians 1:4 tells us that He chose us in Him before the world began.
Ephesians 1:4 – For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
How could He choose you if you didn’t already exist? You were chosen by name; you existed in the heart of the Father.
When God created Adam’s body, He breathed into that body the life He had already created in His heart. So, when you were born, it was like awakening into a reality that had been prepared in God’s heart long ago. Does that make sense?
Now, because God created us within Himself, we were made in His atmosphere, and we need His presence for sustenance. Just as fish were created in the water and need that environment to live, we were created in God’s presence and need Him to thrive. When fish are taken out of water, they die, and when birds are taken out of the air and submerged in water, they too cannot survive. Likewise, we were created in the presence of God, and if we are removed from that atmosphere, we experience spiritual death.
When God told Adam, “If you eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall die,” He was warning that stepping outside of God’s atmosphere leads to death. But, how can anything exist outside of God? Nothing exists apart from Him, and everything is sustained by His presence. So, how did man get outside of God and die? It seems impossible, right? Are you still with me? Let’s take this as a journey together. Just imagine: we’re here in Delhi. Where is Delhi? In India. Where is India? In Asia. Where is Asia? In the world. Where is the world? In the solar system. Where is the solar system? In the Milky Way galaxy. If you keep going out and out, eventually, you reach the boundary of God, because everything exists in Him.
Even the devil exists within the boundaries of God; nothing exists outside of Him. This is why spiritual warfare isn’t a battle between God and the devil. God defeating the devil isn’t a struggle—it’s not a superhero story with a villain that can rival God. It’s like me fighting Mike Tyson—there’s no competition. Everything exists within God’s reality.
Now, the entire human race exists within God, so how could we be experiencing separation or death? Here’s the problem: like how Delhi is inside India but could separate itself by closing its borders, Adam was in God but “closed his borders” when he chose to seek knowledge apart from God. By doing so, even though he was within God, he experienced separation from God.
How did Adam separate himself? Through knowledge. Knowledge is what can either connect us to God or create distance from Him. Your soul—your mind, emotions, and imagination—is the bridge between your spirit and body. When your soul closes itself off to hearing from God, you can feel separated from Him, even though you are in Him. It’s like how two people can be in the same house yet feel distant if they are not emotionally or mentally connected.
It’s the knowledge of good and evil that separated us from God. We weren’t created to know good and evil apart from Him. The tree that Adam ate from was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God intended for us to know and discern good and evil through a relationship with Him.
The root cause of violence and division in the world is this independent knowledge of good and evil—one person thinking they’re right, while the other is wrong. It’s in choosing to discern on our own that we lose the connection to God. We weren’t created for independent knowledge; we were created to know God and hear Him. Knowing God is life; choosing to rely on our own understanding is death.
It’s like an extension cord. If I plug this extension into itself, it has no power. But when it’s plugged into an external source, it can fulfill its purpose. Many people go through life “plugged into themselves,” thinking, “I know what’s best for me.” But God created us to plug into Him. When we are connected to God, His power and life flow into us.
This was the illusion Adam experienced when he ate from the tree: he thought he was capable on his own. Humanity became like a cord plugged into itself, trying to sustain itself without God. That’s why so many people today are anxious and depressed—we’re disconnected from our life source.
Two thousand years ago, Jesus came as a man, but He was different because He was plugged into the life source of God. And in that connection, He showed us what it looks like to live fully alive. Everyone was wondering: Why does Jesus behave differently? Why is the fruit of His life so unique? While we are often plugged into ourselves, Jesus was plugged into the Father. And we are meant to be plugged into the heart of the Father, too.
What Adam lost, Christ restored. Christ has reconnected us to the Father, and now, we have been reconciled to Him. Indeed, the entire cosmos has been reconciled to the Father through Christ. Imagine this: if you were to put your finger into a live plug and switch it on, you would feel the shock of that power. So when you are plugged into God, how can you not experience the power of God? It’s impossible not to. Being connected to the life source of God means His power flows through you.
God did not create us simply to get us to heaven one day. If that were His only goal, He wouldn’t have created the earth. He doesn’t play a game of “catch-up” with the devil, like, Oh, the devil did this, so now I must catch up. No, God had everything planned and accurately designed even before Adam fell. We were found in Christ from the beginning—you are plugged into God!
That’s why Jesus said in John 10:10,
John 10:10: “I have come to give you life, and life abundantly.”
In Greek, there are three words for life. The first is bios, which means physical life. The second is psyche, meaning psychological or mental life. The last is zoe, which is God’s uncreated life—the very life that God lives. This life source is what Jesus came to give you.
That’s why Paul says in Romans 8:11:
Romans 8:11 – “If the Spirit of God who raised Christ from the dead lives in you, He gives life to your mortal bodies.”
This life is not just about a fairytale existence in heaven after you die; this is zoe life on earth, right now, because you need His life here.
In fact, when you get to heaven, you won’t be surprised, because what you see in heaven, you will have already experienced in your life with Jesus. Amen? Wow! You are connected to the life source of God. You are a spiritual being connected to God’s life source, and this connection affects your mind, heart, thoughts, emotions, imagination, and even your body. Imagine this: if you put your finger into a plug and switch it on, you’ll feel that power. Likewise, when you come to church and gather with the saints, you feel the power of God—because it’s been “switched on.”
But this experience shouldn’t only happen from Sunday to Sunday. It can happen every day, even at work, from Monday to Saturday. You can “switch it on” by your will and choice, amen! Imagine you’re walking down the street, and by mistake, you touch someone who is sick, and they are healed. Or, you enter a place filled with anxiety and death, and because of your presence, people experience the peace of God. You can do that—not just Jesus, but you—because “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Now, you must see yourself not as separate from Christ but as one with Him, like a husband and wife are one. Sometimes, we think, If only Jesus were here, like Martha and Mary did—then things would be different. But look at what Romans 10:6-7 says:
Romans 10:6-7 – “But the righteousness based on faith says, ‘Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down) or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
Either you think Christ is only in heaven or somewhere else far away, but that’s not true. What does it say instead?
Romans 10:8: “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.”
Do you know that before He was called “Jesus,” He was known as “the Word of God”? Look at Revelation 19:13:
Revelation 19:13 – “He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.”
And John 1:1 confirms:
John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
This Word—the one who died and was raised for you—now lives inside you. Go back to Romans 10:8: “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.” What does God want you to do with this Word? Speak it! Most of our problems come from overthinking. But for those with real problems, the solution is that the Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart—the word of faith that we proclaim.
What do you do when God’s Word is in your mouth? You don’t just think it; you speak it. If I put food in your mouth, you eat it; if I put words in your mouth, you should speak them. We often do everything except speak God’s Word.
Look at Romans 1:16:
Romans 1:16 – “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation.”
Remember the illustration of plugging in and switching on? The switch is the gospel. The power of God flows through His Word. Paul says, “I am not ashamed of the gospel.” And what do people do when they aren’t ashamed of the gospel? They speak it. Are you ashamed? Speak! Speak the good news of Jesus. When you get a bad medical report, what should you do? Speak the good news of Jesus. When the economy crashes, what should you do? Speak the good news. The problem with many Christians is that they overthink. Don’t think; speak the good news of Jesus, because the power is in your proclamation. Many of our prayers stay inside, unspoken, but we need to speak them out. God can hear your thoughts, but the devil, the bad news, and your medical report cannot hear your thoughts. When you speak out, you switch on that plug—the same power and life that God has now flows through you via your words.
We often do everything except speak His Word, and then wonder why things aren’t happening. This isn’t just theology; it’s practical. You can know all the theology, but if you don’t apply the Word, it won’t benefit you. Think of it like a headache medicine. You can know everything about paracetamol, but if you don’t take it, it won’t help. Similarly, when God has put His Word in your mouth, speak it out. You can’t truly be a doer of the Word until you know how to speak the Word. To do God’s Word, you need power and strength, which comes by speaking and meditating on His Word.
Did you know that before David actually killed Goliath, he kept challenging Goliath with his words? If you can’t overcome something in your words and thoughts, you won’t be able to overcome it in real life. That’s why, when I’m playing football, I keep saying, “We are winning. We are winning. We are winning,” even when we are losing. Why? Because what I cannot speak, I cannot have.
Ephesians 5:1 – “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children.”
How many of you want to imitate God? It’s already time, and I’m just warming up—imitate God! To act like God, you need to have thoughts like Him. If you don’t think like Him, then acting like Him is just hypocrisy. To have thoughts like God, you need to have the same identity God has. The identity God has is righteousness, and that’s why you were made righteous in Jesus. When you are righteous in Jesus, you’ll have righteous thoughts, and those thoughts will lead to righteous actions. It’s simple, right?
This is why we need to come back to the gospel again and again. I’m talking about the gospel of Jesus—the gospel of Jesus has to become our oxygen, because it continually reaffirms our righteous identity with God. When you’re secure in your righteous identity, you’ll start catching yourself. You’ll say, “Why am I even thinking like this? This is not who I am.” Are you always thinking about chocolates? That’s not who you are. You have dominion over chocolate, so take dominion over it! Any craving in your life needs to be brought under control. You’ve been set free by the blood of Jesus.
When you have righteous thoughts, you’ll have righteous actions. And how did you become righteous? Because you were created through the Word of God. How will you have righteous thoughts? Through the Word of God. This is why we read God’s Word every day—the key to renewing the mind is God’s Word. Amen!
What do you do with the Word? You meditate on it, confess it, and declare God’s Word. Just like you need food for your body, your spirit needs God’s Word for nourishment. Your body was made from dust, so it requires food from the earth for sustenance. Your spirit, made from God’s Word, requires nourishment from God’s Word. Get spiritually “fat” in the spirit and lean in the body. Amen!
As you get spiritually strong by returning to the gospel of Jesus, your thoughts, imaginations, emotions, and speech begin to change. As you are transformed into the likeness of Jesus, everything around you will become more like heaven. Two people can be in the same room, experience the same atmosphere, same conditions, and still have different experiences. Why? Because we do not see things as they are—we see things as we are. So, Jesus could be in hell and still experience heaven. He could be in a desert and still experience abundance because it’s not about what is in the atmosphere; it’s about what is inside Him. You have something greater inside of you—His name is Jesus. Now, your identity is not separate from Jesus. You have come into union with Him. The only way you could feel separated is if you ignore Him in your mind, but in reality, you have been united to Christ once and for all. The Bible says,
Matthew 19:6 – “What God has joined together, let no man separate”
God has united you with Jesus. He has sealed you with the Holy Spirit, my friends. You are secure. You cannot break this union anymore.
The worst you can do is to switch off your mind and ignore this reality. But the moment you become aware of the gospel, you can instantly experience intimacy with God again. That’s why, every time you listen to God’s Word, the devil tries his best to distract you. Some people cannot sleep at night, but the moment they come to church, they fall asleep. Don’t take this lightly. It is a demonic attempt to distract you from God’s Word. Because the devil knows that if you recognize what you already have, you’ll start experiencing heaven on earth. Heaven is not about having a full bank account or perfect circumstances. Heaven is having Jesus by your side. When you have Jesus by your side, you can face giants without fear. You can be in unfavorable conditions and still carry the favor of God.
True prosperity is to live life with Jesus, where you could enter a foreign country with no money in your bank account, yet God provides for your needs and even your desires. That’s the kind of faith, the kind of life I’m talking about. Yes, it can happen. We are living it. So, step out of your comfort zone. Don’t let your salary limit your mindset. You have to believe that what you are working for—your job—is not your primary mission. It’s your part-time business. Your main business? “My Father’s business is my business.” Those who work for the kingdom will be supplied by the kingdom. The government of India takes care of its employees, right? It rewards them according to its standards. When you work for the kingdom, when you seek the kingdom, the kingdom will back you up.
This principle is not only for people in full-time ministry. I experienced the kingdom even while working in the corporate world. I experienced favor while I was working because I made a decision long ago that everything I do, I do for my Father and for the glory of God. My main mission is to see God’s kingdom, to be consumed by His presence, and to let His power flow through my life. Nothing can limit you because you have the life source of God inside you.
Think about it—what challenges are you facing today? What is occupying your mental space? Anything that occupies your mind other than God’s Word and His presence is not worth it. Be consumed by His fire. Be consumed by His thoughts. When you are consumed by Him, you will feel invincible. You can walk with an empty wallet and still walk like a king because you are filled with His thoughts.
Now, let me close with this: When Adam fell, he fell from his divine position, and because of that, he came under the elementary principles of the world—under time, space, and the limitations of the natural order. But when Christ restored you, the Bible says that you are “seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all powers” This means you have been seated in a higher spiritual position. Physically, you are on earth, but you can operate from a higher position. Time is meant to serve you. Every elementary principle of the world is meant to serve the heir of the world. Don’t let time dictate your life. When you are seated with God, you are no longer in the dimension of time. You are passing through time, experiencing life, but you can operate from the dimension of God’s world. God’s word is a higher dimension than time. It is a higher dimension than space. When you grow in God’s word, you grow in God’s reality.
Let me show you my final thoughts, from John 17:17. Jesus said,
John 17:17 – “Sanctify them in Your truth.” Listen to this carefully. “Sanctify” means set apart.
Jesus is saying, “God, set them apart in Your truth.” You have been set apart in God’s truth. When you are set apart in His truth, don’t complain about what is unfair in your office. Don’t operate from a lower rank. Get into your spiritual position and operate from that place. God has set you apart in His truth.
The Greek word for truth here means “reality.” God’s truth is the highest form of reality. You have been set apart in God’s reality. Where is God’s reality? John 17:17 answers that: “Your word is truth.” So, God has set you apart in His reality, and His reality is in His word. Everything you are asking for is already available in God’s reality, His Word. You need to be confident because His reality has already been given to you in His Word. And that very Word is what you were created from.
When you meditate on the reality in the Word that you want, it resonates with the spiritual reality already inside of you. There’s a phenomenon called resonance. Everything in this world, including you, has a frequency. If you can tap into this frequency with your voice, you can make that object move or vibrate. The same applies to you spiritually. You were created from God’s Word, and you have His Word inside of you. When you meditate on God’s Word, resonance happens.
What is inside of you is being released. There is untapped potential inside of you, and when you engage with the Word, that potential is unleashed. Everything that God needs to bless you with is already inside of you, in your spirit. As you read and meditate on His Word, you unlock what’s already inside. This is what Jesus said in John 4:7,
John 4:7 – “Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
The Word of God will flow out of you when you stay in it. Anything you want unlocked in your life, find it in the Word. Meditate on it. That’s how you resonate with God’s reality and unlock that potential from within.
Romans 14:17 – “The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
Where is the kingdom? In the Holy Spirit. And where is the Holy Spirit? Inside of you. So where is the kingdom? It is inside of you. Everything you need is already inside. It’s just waiting for you to unlock it.
Every time you confess God’s Word, you are drawing from the spiritual reality within you. This is why Jesus said in Luke 17:21,
Luke 17:2 – “The kingdom of God is within you.”
The kingdom is within you, and you have all the resources you need to unlock the life God has for you.
You are plugged into the life source of God. You decide when to turn it on. In 2 Timothy 1:6, Paul says,
2 Timothy 1:6 – “Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you.”
The problem with many Christians is that they’re waiting to get stirred up by someone else. They sit and wait for someone to pray over them and “stir them up,” but nothing happens. You don’t have to wait for someone to stir you up. You already have the power. You have the Holy Spirit inside you. You have the Word inside you.
Stir yourself up! You don’t need to wait for someone else to do it for you. You can fan into flame the gift of God that’s already in you. I don’t wait for anyone to stir me up—I stir myself up. So, what are you waiting for? What are you doing? Waiting for God to move? God is moving. You stir yourself up, and the power will flow.
God is already moving! He hasn’t stopped. He is moving in your life right now. You just need to align with that reality—switch it on. The simplest way to switch it on is to speak the gospel. I’m not just talking about evangelism. Yes, sharing the gospel with others is important, but more than that, speak the gospel to yourself.
The most unbelieving believer is often yourself. When you wake up in the morning and face 10,000 thoughts, speak the gospel to yourself. Get a hold of yourself and remind yourself:
Declare God’s Word over your life. Whatever challenge you face, speak the gospel. Yes, it’s okay to feel discouraged or disappointed at times, but don’t stay there. If you get a negative medical report, it’s okay to feel emotional for a moment. But take a step back and declare God’s Word. The doctor doesn’t have the final say. Your boss doesn’t have the final say. Speak God’s Word.
This is how you become practical with the Word of God. Speak it, proclaim it over your life. Anything you face—proclaim the gospel over it. Live a kingdom lifestyle: always experiencing righteousness, peace, and joy 24/7.
Catch yourself when you feel anxious or frustrated. Take a step back. David did this when he said, “Oh, my soul, praise His holy name!”. He spoke to his soul because sometimes, our souls are unbelieving. Our souls need the gospel. Remind yourself of God’s goodness. Romans 2 says, “The goodness of God leads man to repentance.” Preach the gospel to yourself. More than you preach to your neighbor, preach to yourself.
The more you preach the gospel to yourself, the more natural it becomes to share it with others. I once had a relationship manager visit my home. I was so stirred up that I ended up sharing the gospel with him. He had just lost a child, and I declared, “I will pray for you, and you will have a child.” He let me pray for him. The gospel flowed from me because it was overflowing from my heart.
When you speak God’s Word to yourself, it overflows. I used to be afraid of evangelism. I thought I wasn’t good enough or couldn’t meet people, but once I realized that God doesn’t condemn me, I stopped feeling guilty. I started living from a place of joy and overflow, and evangelism became easy. It comes naturally when you are filled with God’s presence.
Overflow happens when you are filled. Remember when Jesus multiplied the loaves and fish? The 5,000 people were fed, and the disciples had overflow. You cannot step into overflow if you’re not filled first. Stay filled with the Word of God, and you will overflow into the lives of others.
For me, this isn’t just a pastor’s message—it’s a life decision I made long ago, even when I was working in the corporate world. I decided that if there was one thing I would prioritize, it would be the kingdom. Let the kingdom be your focus. Let God’s Word be in your mind and heart at all times. The boss may kick me out, but I am going to serve the kingdom. If that becomes your priority, your mind needs to be filled with God’s Word. The person I preach to the most is myself. Just like David strengthened himself in the Lord, we must learn to strengthen ourselves in the Lord. I know you won’t admit it, but I know you talk to yourself. Your self-talk should always be the gospel—encouraging yourself. Say, “I can do this because Christ is in me. I am more than a conqueror!” Encourage yourself. Keep speaking life over yourself. We have such a wonderful gospel, and honestly, I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface. After 2,000 years, we’re still preaching the same gospel. Don’t get tired of it! The gospel is like fresh wine—it’s always giving you new life. The moment you start feeling tired of the gospel, it’s not because the gospel has become stale; it’s because your mind has become old. If you’re feeling worn out, pray, “Lord, refresh my mind. Renew my mind.”
Check your attitude and your posture when you’re hearing from God. Sometimes, we go through the motions—praying, reading the Bible, declaring—but we’re doing it out of habit, not intentionally. Be aware of that. This is why our declarations don’t always work or why our confessions may not seem powerful. Let it not become a ritual. Let it be a spiritual act!
Every time I wake up, the hardest thing for me is to get my posture and attitude right. If I can get that right, I can hear God clearly. The struggle is real. But that’s why we spend so much time in God’s presence—to stay humble. Humility attracts favor. The more you humble yourself, the more you receive. No matter how much you know, there’s always more to know. Paul said, “You don’t know as much as you ought to know.” This keeps me humble. I want to be consumed by God. My goal is to know Him more, because there is always more to know about Jesus, always more to grow in Him.
