Invading the Heart First

God’s kingdom is not just about invading cities; it begins by invading hearts and families.

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.”Colossians 1:13

The kingdom must take root within us before it can transform the world around us.

Appropriating the Promise

The Israelites were delivered from Egypt, but they could not inherit the promised land because they failed to appropriate God’s promise.

“They tested God again and again and provoked the Holy One of Israel.”Psalm 78:41

Though they were physically free, they remained emotionally bound. In the same way, believers can be spiritually free in Christ yet fail to walk in that freedom if their hearts resist God’s word.

The Parable of the Sower

Jesus explained that understanding the parable of the sower is key to understanding the kingdom (Mark 4:13). The seed is the word of God, and the soil is our heart. The fruit we bear depends not on the seed but on the condition of the heart.

  1. The Heart of Dishonor – Like the path where seed is trampled and eaten by birds (Luke 8:5), this heart devalues God’s word. Without honor, the enemy snatches it away.

  2. The Disconnected Heart – Like rocky ground with shallow roots, this heart lacks depth. Without fellowship, it withers under trials (Hebrews 3:13).

  3. The Divided Heart – Like thorny soil, it receives the word but allows worries, riches, and pleasures to choke it (Matthew 6:33).

  4. The Devoted Heart – The good soil that receives the word, stands firm, and bears fruit thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold (Mark 4:20).

From Miracle to Blessing

God provides miracles in times of crisis, but His greater plan is that we live in blessing.

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”Psalm 1:3

Miracles rescue us, but blessings establish us. The kingdom grows steadily, like a seed becoming a tree, bringing fruit not just for us but for nations.
