“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.” – Colossians 1:13
Scripture declares that we have already been delivered from the authority of darkness. This is not a future hope but a finished reality. Deliverance is not coaching or advice—it is a rescue operation carried out by Jesus Himself. He disarmed the rulers and authorities, put them to open shame, and triumphed over them (Colossians 2:15).
Darkness once ruled over us, but through Jesus, that authority has been broken forever.
When God delivered us from darkness, He did not leave us in “no man’s land”—a vulnerable place between two kingdoms. In Christ, we are securely transferred into the kingdom of His beloved Son. That means we are no longer exposed to crossfire. We are guarded by the security force of heaven itself—angelic hosts assigned for our protection (Psalm 91:11–12).
If one angel could destroy 183,000 soldiers, how much more protection do we have with legions at our disposal? Even Jesus declared,
“No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.” – John 10:18
God did not give us common citizenship; He gave us sonship.
“You have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’” – Romans 8:15
Angels, though mighty, cannot call God “Father.” Yet we, through Christ, have that privilege. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). This reality makes us not just protected, but deeply loved and privileged children of God.
Jesus said:
“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” – John 10:28–29
This means we are held in double security—Jesus holds us, and the Father covers us. If the enemy still seems to attack, it is often because we have opened a “back door” through bitterness, jealousy, or anxiety. Recognizing and shutting those doors aligns us back with the protection already given.
Though our spirit is secure in Christ, our mind can drift into “no man’s land.” That is why Scripture says:
“Take every thought captive to obey Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 10:5
Our thoughts must be trained like wild horses, brought under the authority of God’s Word. By declaring Scripture, we give the Word first place in our lives, and every loose thought comes into alignment with Christ.
