Created for Dominion

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’”Genesis 1:26

When God created mankind, He didn’t make them to be servants or slaves. He made them to rule. Dominion was not a reward—it was our original design. We were made in God’s image so that His will and His kingdom could manifest through us on the earth.

But sin distorted that image. Humanity exchanged divine authority for independence, trying to define right and wrong apart from God. Dominion was never meant to operate apart from relationship with the King. True dominion flows only through obedience.

Obedience Is Alignment

“If you love me, keep my commandments.”John 14:15

Obedience is not slavery; it’s alignment. When we obey God, we come under the flow of His authority. Obedience connects heaven’s power to earthly situations. It’s not about control—it’s about partnership.

Adam lost authority the moment he disobeyed because disobedience disconnects us from the source. In the same way, Jesus restored that authority through perfect obedience to the Father. The cross was not weakness; it was submission that led to dominion.

Authority Flows Through Responsibility

“To whom much is given, much will be required.”Luke 12:48

You cannot exercise authority if you keep shifting blame. Authority is lost when you excuse yourself but restored when you take responsibility. That’s why spiritual maturity always involves accountability.

When God asked Adam, “Where are you?”, it wasn’t a geographical question. It was a call to take ownership. Until we stop pointing fingers, we cannot operate in the authority that brings transformation.

Submission Is Not Control

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”James 4:7

Submission is often misunderstood. It’s not about control or hierarchy—it’s about alignment with God’s order. You can be around leadership and still not be under it. True submission positions you for authority because heaven’s power flows through divine structure.

The more submitted you are to God, the more authority you carry over darkness. Even Jesus said,

“I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.”John 8:28

That’s how He walked in unstoppable power—because He lived in perfect obedience.

From Slavery to Sonship

“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”Romans 8:16

The slave mindset tries to earn belonging. The son knows he already belongs. Many believers still live striving to be accepted, not realizing they are already sons and daughters. Dominion begins where striving ends—when you rest in who you are in Christ.

You don’t fight for authority; you flow in it when you know your identity. The power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. But that authority manifests when you choose to walk in obedience to His Word.
